The quest “The Lost Shipment” in Brighter Shores is one of the first missions you’ll receive in the Hopeport region. However, there are some requirements to be fulfilled to complete this quest. This guide will teach you step by step everything you need to know to complete The Lost Shipment quest.
Quest Requirements
Although the quest does not have any minimum requirements to start, there are some prerequisites to fully complete it:
- Fishing Level: 25+
- Guard Level: 20+
- Required Money: 11 Silver, 40 Copper
Starting The Lost Shipment
To start the mission, head to Brannof Hall. The exact location is described below.
Once you reach Brannof’s Dining Room, talk to the NPC Cohen. He will ask you to find a lost shipment, and for this, you’ll need to locate Captain Shirker and investigate a lead at The Hooked Hand to proceed with the mission.
Finding Captain Shirker
To find Captain Shirker, the route from Brannof Hall is highlighted in the map below.
Once there, an important detail must be noted: you must not wear your armor for the captain to trust you! Unequip your armor and then talk to the captain.
During the conversation, you will invite the captain to a meal at Delectable Dab, a restaurant located opposite the Apothecary where you created a healing potion during the game tutorial. There, you will find the captain at one of the tables. Talk to him and order a chicken pie. Keep the conversation natural before asking about the shipment until he tells you about a man in a blue vest.
Getting a Monobrow
Return to Town Square, and in one of the corners of the square, in the southwest part, speak to an NPC in a blue coat. He will talk about a man named “The Illusion” and suggest that you disguise yourself with a monobrow.
Now, go to the Barber Shop at the location indicated on the map below, where you can request the monobrow look. This will cost 8 Silver and 280 Copper, but removing it later will be free. If you are wearing a helmet at this stage, you will need to unequip it.
Heading to The Hooked Hand
For the next stage of the quest, go to The Hooked Hand, located as shown on the following map. Once there, again, remove your weapons and armor. Talk to the NPCs until you find the dialogue option “I’d like to meet a Carthian plumbatae seller.” Once more, a clue about “The Illusion” will be mentioned.
Catching a Fetid Flounder
Now you’ll need to catch a Fetid Flounder. This fish can only be caught if you have at least level 25 in Fishing and is found exclusively at Overgrown Pond. The exact location is described in the figure below.
With the Fetid Flounder in your inventory, acquire a Quill and Ink and a Paper if you don’t already have them (both can be found in Jal Degreene’s Office, near the Training Ground—the game’s starting area).
In your belt, combine the Quill and Ink with the Paper and write “Order 2 Carthian plumbatae.” Then, open your quest inventory. Here, you must combine the paper with the Fetid Flounder.
Take your message to the Fishmonger responsible for the Fish Stall on Eel Street (immediately east of The Hooked Hand). Sell your Fetid Flounder, then hide behind a nearby bush.
Finishing The Lost Shipment and Claiming Your Rewards
After watching the stranger buy the fish you sold, follow them to Wilhope Crossing, then to Wilhope Passage and Monob Row. There, you will find a locked door, but you can use your monobrow to claim that you’re Monobrow Sam to gain entry.
Finally, you’ll need to fight both a Thief and the Furtive Stranger, both level 30. Make sure you’re equipped for this (except for your helmet, to show off your lovely monobrow)—bringing potions to ensure victory can help. Defeat them and grab the chest in the area to complete the quest.
Quest Rewards
For completing the mission, you will receive:
- 15,600 Fishing XP
- 17,200 Guard XP
- A Rare Carthian Plumbatae
With this, we’ve wrapped up another mission in Brighter Shores. We truly hope this guide has been helpful in your journey. Happy leveling, and see you next time!
